Executing Agency

There are two types of electric actuators, generally divided into Part-Turn Electric Valve Actuator and Multi-Turn Electric Valve Actuator, the former mainly controls valves that require partial rotation, such as ball valves, butterfly valves, etc., while the latter requires multiple rotations, such as gate valves, etc.

The electrically driven multi-turn actuator is one of the most common and reliable types of actuators. A single-phase or three-phase motor is used to drive a gear or worm gear that finally drives the stem nut, which causes the stem to move to open or close the valve. Multi-turn electric actuators can quickly drive large size valves. To protect the valve from damage, a limit switch installed at the end of the valve stroke cuts off the motor power, and a torque sensing device also cuts off the motor power when the safety torque is exceeded, a position switch is used to indicate the opening and closing status of the valve, and a handwheel mechanism with a clutch device is installed to operate the valve manually in case of power failure.
