The main advantage of this type of AUMA Electric Actuator is that all components are mounted in one housing and all basic and advanced functions are integrated in this waterproof, dustproof and explosion-proof housing. The main disadvantage is that in case of power failure the valve can only remain in the original position and the valve can only achieve the fail-safe position (fail-open or fail-closed) by using a backup power system.

These actuators are similar to electric multi-turn actuators, the main difference being that the final output of the actuator is a 1/4 turn recorded 90 degree motion. The new generation of electric single rotary actuators combines most of the complex functions of multi-turn actuators, such as parameter setting and diagnostic functions using a non-access user-friendly interface. The single rotary actuators are compact enough to be mounted on small size valves, typically with an output torque of up to 800 kgm, and they can be fitted with batteries for fail-safe operation due to the low power requirements.

MX2500 Series Minimum Flow Circulation Valve

Minimum flow circulation valve is the key supporting equipment of power plant’s boiler feedwater pump.

Boiler water from the feedwater pump will be pressurized up to 20-30Mpa or above in the deaerator then sent to the high pressure heater and eventally into the boiler. A certain minimum flow quantity of the feedwater pump should be ensured to take away the heat generated by its operation so as to avoid overheating and damage of vanes due to cavitation. Boiler feedwater flow is small during the startup and shutdown process while the water demand decreases in condition of breakdown. In order to ensure the normal operation of the pump, a recirculation system should be mounted in the pump outlet to carry a portion of the feedwater back to the deaerator from the pump.
